Welcome to The Frame! We are going behind our newest collection entitled: Taste & See

This collection focuses on Psalm 34:8 which says:

"Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him."

- Psalm 34:8

In this we find that David wrote this Psalm after fleeing from King Saul. In 1 Samuel 21, we find that David, was hiding from Saul as he was fearful for his life. He ran to a different kingdom and when servants were noticing who he was, fearful that the servants would tell their king, he started to act insane so that they and their king would not recognize him.

David, on the run on his own, recognized that his only hope is God. In Psalm 34 we see how deeply he wanted people to understand how much trust he put in him. Which leads into our FOCUS which is Community.

Taste & See Focus: Community

When we focused on this passage this passage the first thought that come through our minds was community. In this passage David's relationship with the Lord was something he didn't want to keep to himself but rather we saw it as an invitation to something more. David was God's first 5-star Yelp review. He wanted us to have the same relationship with God that he had because it was that good.

Much like Yelp, we all have a responsibility to advise each other. Like David, we have gone through the ringer ourselves and because of that we are whom we are. But that doesn't have to stop there. We have a chance now to share it all.

To break down the two principles of Taste & See, we would have to say that to TASTE means you know what is means to have experienced a situation and to SEE means to have experienced the outcome of a situation and know the fruits of what it bore.

This leads us to our image for Taste & See. We wanted an image that makes these two principles and message we are trying to send a reality, and what better way is through food? Yes, food! The main image of Taste & See is a Table and Plate! Communities thrive on sharing stories and finding friendship through sharing a meal with one another. The image is a call that no matter whom you are, you have a story to share. We share stories at the table to not only get to know one another, but to catch up with each other, to give encouragement to one another, to cry with one another. Its one of the most simplest, yet one of the most impactful ways to reach one other.

The thirteen lines of the image stands for Jesus and his twelve disciples. When Jesus shared his final meal, He took it upon himself share his inner most self. He washed his disciples feet, confided that one of the twelve would betray him, and that when it was all said and done, He would have to die in the hours ahead. This is the example that we want to follow. To be transparent at the table, a table that is open for everyone. So our challenge to you is:

Won't you take a seat at the table?

Special thanks to Allen Panganiban for the inspiration for this collection!
